“When you stop comparing yourself to others, you can
accomplish great things”, says wheelchair athlete Dean Furness. He shares how,
after losing the use of his legs in an accident, he discovered a powerful new
mindset focused on redefining his "personal average" and getting
better little by little.
From the Dean Furness speech, we can get many motivated
ideas. After the accident, he was lost his legs. His life was changed in the
few moments. But he wasn’t mentally fall down. He was accepted his challenge
and ready for his new life. He win his life in the wheelchair. He compare to
his self with the same situation people in the hospital and he couldn’t try to
pace or set pace with them as well.
He continued to try to attack some pretty incredible
challenges, like completing a marathon in a wheelchair. And he researched about
wheelchair racing and learned their technique and about the equipment. He also faced
2017 Chicago Marathon. Then he faced lot of competitions and improve his talent
day by day. As the result of his training, he could win the race from 30
seconds per mile faster.
From the Dean Furness life we can get many advices such as working
really hard, fighting the challenges and win those and never fall down to
thinking about his current life. So stop comparing our life with others and we
overcome the challenges.
